Children's hardcover; no dust jacket. This book is part of the Cornerstones of Freedom series, and has been hanging out in our attic for many years - probably since shortly after the Bicentennial!

Text by Kenneth Richards with illustrations by Chuck Hamrick; unlike many of the other books in the series, this one has different images on the front and back - or rather, what appears to be a single wraparound painting.

One definite change has happened since this book was published: the Supreme Court Justices are no longer all men...and I suspect the pages aren't all male any more either. :D

Some of the names of the Justices have been included in the cover painting, and the front of the building shows - although not clearly - where the inscription "EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW" is engraved.
