The Store

Very good mix of 1984 and Amazon... it did sounds scarily realistic for the future. Really enjoyed this Patterson novel and very different from his usual which was a nice change.

Received from Emscott10 in a non-contact book swap. Thanks very much. This looks like just my kind of book. I really enjoy a bit of sci-fi. My husband will no doubt read it too.

My husband has read this book and comments as follows:-"Not much action in this story but I did get to the end of it. I thought it finished rather abruptly although the whole story was believable. I still prefer it when this author writes on his own."
The book will now go back on my shelf until I can fit it into one of Plum-Crazy's monthly "What to Read" themes (see under Book Talk in the Forum).

REVIEW:-"I quite enjoyed this fast-moving futuristic tale which was very scary in places and very much reminded me of a big "store" here in the UK who hopefully don't employ the same tactics as "The Store"! The short chapters made it a compelling read and I didn't actually realise all that was going on with Jacob and his family until it was explained to me at the end. It was a little far-fetched in places but nevertheless an entertaining read."
Will release soon.

I already have books travelling in many countries around the world-a list can be found on my bookcrossing profile.
When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

Arrived home from work to find it and it's friends along with a lovely postcard waiting for me. I have read a few of the author's early works but that was some time ago now. Will certainly give it a go. Thanks for sharing I look forward to reading it.
