After I got used to the author's excessive style of literature lecture, with brackets, references and foot notes, I found this book quite entertaining.

Blue is the film-obsessed daughter of the excentric, know-all academic Gareth van Meer, who, after the death of his wife never manages to stay at a college for longer. However, during Blue's senior year they settle in the sleepy town of Stockton, North Carolina.
At the St. Gallway School Blue befriends a group of popular, rich and mysterious teenagers called the Bluebloods. They belong to the inner circle of Hannah Schneider, the film-studies teacher at St. Gallway, a perplexing, intriguing woman, of whom Blue is rapt. When Schneider dies, seemingly by suicide, Blue tries to find out why.

A wild story of spies and undercover agents ensues, in which Blue's father plays a major role. But the whole calamity ends romantically with a happy end.
Blue finally got a life ;)
