Black Klansman

Fascinating read -- short memoir by police officer/detective first Black man on his local police force to go under cover and inadvertently makes contact with local KKK cell during the David Duke years when Duke was trying to convert them to a political party in the U.S. Has been adapted as a film by Spike Lee which is excellent but note the narrative story/book is different than the film--that's Hollywood for you. Detective Stallworth also details racism he encountered among peers/leadership during his early days on the force and during this undercover sting where he also fingered a neighboring district's firefighter/who headed a different white supremacy group. Amazing and informative read, highly recommend.
