After coming away (sort of) empty handed (in terms of the NSS Unconvention) after going into 7 charity shop, 2 pubs, 2 little free libraries and 2 cafes I finally found a secondhand bookshop in Lee (Lewisham, SE London) that came up trumps! This is one of 5 books I got today to post to Edinburgh. The list of books they had was a little longer and I chose ones that had connections to things I know: in this case, Spain and live music.

I am taking part in the Virtual Unconvention NSS (my first) and this is winging its way in a northerly direction after being whisked off its shelf in Halcyon Bookshop this afternoon!

FIVE! Five wish list books, have arrived in a neat wee box! An event above and way beyond any expectations as a participant in the International Un-Con 2021 NSS. (NSS = Not So Secret - book parcel exchange by post.) Huge, HUGE THANKS ETMadrid. Plus, decorated with wonderful prints of ancient to old buildings in Rotherhithe village, an excellent 100% cotton, tea towel and a hot choc in a packet! (Genius move!) Whole box akin to receiving a SURPRISE selection box of Hotel Chocolate Liquor Chocolates = BEAMING GRINS! Sumptuously rich pickings that are going to last a good long while. Grinning from ear to ear in the capital of Tartanland.

Villar, Domingo - Water-Blue Eyes (Leo Caldas #1) Oh, this poses questions, and comments. First question why did I pop this on my wishlist? Usually, I remember. This time round, I’m coming up blank! However, the synopsis and praise comments have re-grabbed my attention, it’s going to be a treat, I’m sure! Brain jogged by the date I added this to my WishList, I figure it’s highly likely one of the founders of BLOODY SCOTLAND, (Scottish Crime Writing Festival, held in September, in Stirling) mentioned this during a promotional talk months before the festival took place. Recommendations from other authors = GOLD.

COMPLETE LIST OF WISHLIST TITLES FROM BOOKCROSSER ETMadrid;
• In the Kingdom of Mists (Claude Monet #1) – Jakeman, Jane
• Justice Hall (Russell & Holmes 6) – King, Laurie R
• From This Day Forward –L’Engle, Madeleine

• Water-Blue Eyes (Leo Caldas #1) – Villar, Domingo

GOSH & GASP! My NSS PARCEL did arrive on Saturday! It delighted me by waiting on my doormat to be discovered as I left to buy milk in the evening. Could have been that the postie made too soft a knock I missed when the radio was on loud, or perhaps the postie didn’t knock? Sometimes these sweet young posties don’t imagine my door bell actually works, perhaps as it looks so old? (As well it might of course, as the building is over 100 years old.) To finish, again HUGE THANKS ETMadrid.
