Across two bittersweet but riotous days in their Sand Diego neighborhood, four generations celebrate beloved patriarch Miguel Angel de La Cruz (aka Big Angel) and his one-hundred-year old mother, recounting the many myths that have passed into family lore, the acts that brought the family to this country they've come to call home.

I enjoyed this story which was alternatively amusing, touching, fantastically unbelievable, and relatable.

The author was born in Mexico and, although the story is mainly set in San Diego, CA, bits of action take place in Tijuana so I'm counting it for Mexico in the 666 Around the World Reading Challenge. I'm also counting it for "U" in the A-Z Authors Reading Challenge.
