Record of a Spaceborn Few

Human science fiction. Not only because it indeed is about humans and not about alien races, but also because it is a quiet little story for a SF novel. An archiving alien goes to the spacefleet that brought humans into space to archive how people live there. How are the quarters build? What is a family? How do you deal with boredom as a adolescent? How do you care for the dead?
There are interesting ideas in this; a rollercoaster ride through asteroids, a 3D cinema with pictures of land, the necessity to see and feel a planet that worns out generation on generation...

Thanks a lot for the wishlist book, iiwi! I hope there wasn't anything else in the envelope because it arrived with one corner open, so small things could have been lost. The book is in fine condition, though, so all is well. :)

"We are the Exodus Fleet. We are those that wandered, that wander still. We are the homesteaders that shelter our families. We are the miners and foragers in the open. We are the ships that ferry between. We are the explorers who carry our names. We are the parents who lead the way. We are the children who continue on."
