From the back cover:
'One of the most original pieces of fiction to have emerged this year. Geniunely chilling, it combines the elements of psychic thriller, historical detection and psychological analysis, spanning 250 year in parallels which are unnerving and spooky in the extreme'.

Hawksmoor was Sir Christopher Wren's assistant in rebuilding London after the Great Fire and the story is based on him, his reputation as an alchemist and the dark side of London life. The story is told in parallel with a modern story based around a Hawksmoor church in the East End. It is dark and brooding and well worth the effort!

I read this some time ago, and now it really needs to go to a new home! It is a little bit battered, but might survive a few journeys.

I found it quite hard going, though a fascinating story. The style of story telling confused me and for me, was a barrier to really enjoying what is a great, dark tale. I am sure others will enjoy it - both for its story and its literary merit!

RELEASE NOTES:

Going to Scotland for the New Year holiday and thought I'd take the chance on a 'wild release'. So far I have had very little response to books left to fend for themselves - well, no 'catches' at all actually. So, if you are reading this, thanks!
