I found this softcover at a local Goodwill thrift shop. As per the title it contains many quotes from JFK throughout his career, many humorous, others more philosophical. The section on his Irish heritage includes many entries from his 1963 trip to Ireland - more poignant in retrospect, knowing he wouldn't live out the year.

Indeed, my memories of him are overwhelmed by the announcement of his assassination. I was in 7th grade at the time, and our principal interrupted classes to announce the news over the school speaker system. We were sent home early, and school was cancelled for the next day, with massive news coverage on TV and radio. It's common now for major news to "go viral", of course, but in those days it was rare for anything to take over the media to that extent. It was rather sweet to browse through the book and be reminded of happier times in his life.

I left this book in the Little Free Library beside City Hall, after getting a photo of the book near the bust of JFK in front of City Hall. (It commemorates his 1960 visit as the start of his presidential campaign.) Hope someone enjoys the book!
