I ordered this book from Whodunit Bookstore after seeing the author on a virtual chat with the owner. I am a fan of C. C. Benison's books and I especially loved the Father Christmas series. So I was disappointed when Michael at Whodunit told me a few years ago that there were no others planned. Thus it came a surprise that this book is set in the same milieu and features Father Christmas. In the live chat Bennison (aka Doug Whiteway) explained that due to contractual obligations he couldn't write another using the Twelve Days of Christmas hook but this novella fell outside of that clause. Yay!

This book is going to the winner of the 2021 International Canadian Literature Sweepstakes. Hope you enjoy this little book written by someone from my home city. If you do you can check out his other books in the Father Christmas series and an older series involving a maid to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth as the protagonist.
