The Olive Season

I finished reading this, and when registering the book I realized that I had read this back in 2007!! And totally had no recollection of them! Usually somewhere along the way I'd feel a deja vu but not with this book.
Anyway, I enjoyed this book for the second time, a sincere, heartfelt memoir of her time on an olive farm in Provence. There are some painful experience, of the past and present, which helped Drinkwater recognized even more the farm as her home, where she finds comfort and refuge.
In the beginning I felt that, despite the author's repeated claims, someone who hopscotches Pacific Islands for the perfect wedding spot and attends Cannes Festival cannot be called poor. Reading on, however, I realize that being rich enough to buy a big villa with an olive farm but not rich enough to hire an army of staff to tend to it is hard work indeed. Which makes me feel considerable better living in my humble dwelling.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Hope the next reader enjoys this armchair trip to Provence, for some nice olives, wine and more in a lovely farmhouse.
Maybe because my expectations were not high, but I found The Olive Season as engaging as its predecessor. In The Olive Season, Carol Drinkwater continues the story of her development of an old olive tree farm in the south of France. Drinkwater marries and soon becomes pregnant. Her pregnancy is difficult, however, and much of the book consists of her worries about pregnancy and writing and her olive farm.
