A fascinating story about an enslaved woman, Cora, who escapes from the horror of life on a Georgia plantation and her subsequent travels and ordeals. The framework of her story is that the underground railroad actually exists as a literal train system that carries enslaved people from south to north and, hopefully, freedom.
