The autobiography (with help since she had little schooling) of a 10-year old girl, the first child bride in Yemen to win a divorce. She was named as a 2008 Woman of the Year by Glamour magazine.
I found this to be surprisingly well written. And, of course, heart wrenching.
I'm counting this for Yemen / Asia in the 666 Around the World Reading Challenge, and for I in the A-Z Titles Reading Challenge.
Updated to add that I later recommended it to my nonfiction book club. They were happy to have a smallish book, and one on a very different topic. I enjoyed the thoughtful discussion that ensued.
