Another detective Karen Pirie thriller. Really enjoyed this one, but then I generally do enjoy reading a Val McDermid book . This one was really gripping. A body is pulled from the sea who turned out to be the prime suspect in a decade old murder but there is always more than meets the eye and Karen Pirie nitpicks her way through the previous investigation to discover the truth, even though she had reviewed the file on a previous occasion. Karen is also investigating a suspicious death when a skeleton is discovered in an abandoned camper van.

I love to read about all the procedural stuff that goes on in an investigation and the characterisations of all the people involved. A really jam packed convoluted plot to get your teeth stuck into.
