I got this paperback at a local Savers thrift shop. It contains novelized versions of a number of episodes from the original "Star Trek" series, which I watched devotedly when it first aired. I still enjoy some of the reruns, though not all of the episodes are equally good, and a few are rather cringe-inducing... Anyway, this collection includes some of the most notable ones, such as "Amok Time" (aka "Spock goes into heat" {wry grin}), "The Trouble with Tribbles", "Mirror Mirror" (the one with the sexy Evil Spock - or should I say "pragmatic"), and "Journey to Babel" (one of my favorites, as it introduces Spock's Vulcan father Sarek and Earth mother Amanda, with some awesome interactions between them) - and some of the weirder ones, like "A Piece of the Action" (Kirk and Spock have to dress as gangsters when they land on a world with a Prohibition-era setting).
[There's a TV Tropes page on the original series, with some entertaining tidbits.]
