Covertext:
In the aftermath of a colossal battle, the future of the Seven Kingdoms hangs in the balance-beset by newly emerging threats from every direction. In the east, Daenerys Targaryen, the last scion of House Targaryen, rules with her three dragons as queen of a city built on dust and death. But Daenerys has thousands of enemies.
This series made me an addict, so I'm sad that there is not yet a sequel. The more, because the story goes on, there really is no ending of any of the storylines. Of corse, again some of the main characters dy, or I should say, I think they die, because some other 'dead' characters seem to be alive, or something close to that.
Another downside is that this part also starts at the end of part 3, just as part 4 did. This part however focuses on another set of characters: Daenerys, Jon, Theon, Arya. We learn nothing more about Samwell and Sansa. For this, we have to wait for the elusive part 6, already 12 years in the making.
Nevertheless, I find the story beautifully written, with all the war, violence, scheming and disregard for women as in the previous parts.
