Picked up for one of Plum's themes.

I have read virtually all of the author's output and particularly enjoyed his legal works. This book although it does feature lawyers has more to do with student fees and debt, a topic which has certainly been hot in Britain over the last few years and I've little doubt is likewise in the US.

As with a lot of Grisham's books there is little in the way of character building, but there is just enough for the reader to feel the full depth of these friends' desperation and determination. The story is well crafted and as the action rattles along at a breakneck pace you cannot help but root for these unlikely underdogs and that hope that somehow, against the odds, they will triumph, that whilst they may be doing wrong they aren't bad kids, but instead are the real victims.

I have found myself a little underwhelmed by the last few Grisham books that I've read, felt that he was simply churning them out, but this is a reminder as to why I persevere with him. A rollicking fun tale.

Received in the post from 4evagreen as a RABCK and just taken out of quarantine. Thanks very much for this wishlist book and also for the interesting postcard enclosed. I shall look forward to reading the book as soon as it can be fitted into one of Plum-Crazy's monthly themes. (See under Book Talk in the Forum). My husband will also probably read the book as he too is a Grisham fan.

My husband has read this book and comments as follows:-"The early part of this book seemed to have an interesting story but as it progressed I became a little bored and thought the scam went on for too long."
The book will now go onto my tbr shelves until I can fit in into one of Plum-Crazy's monthly themes. Unfortunately didn't have time to fit in into the "selection box" theme.

REVIEW:-!"A rip-roaring adventure that I really enjoyed although some of the legal twists and turns were obviously far easier for the author to write than for me to understand. However I persevered as I grew fond of the characters and thought the book was very well-written. I felt that the 3 main characters were basically good people even though they were a trifle misguided and over-optimistic at times.
It was interesting to learn of the type of things that went on in Bermuda and in Senegal. The story had a satisfactory ending. Reserved as a surprise RABCK

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

To the finder:-
Welcome to bookcrossing -you have found a travelling book. Please make a journal entry now to say where you found the book in case it has been moved. Then, when you have read it, please come back and make a further entry saying whether or not you enjoyed the book and why. It is now yours to do as you like with it, pass it to a friend or just leave it somewhere different for someone else to find and help it with its' journey. Of course if you can't bear to part with it at the moment then keep it, but please let me know that you have found it. If you join bookcrossing, which is free and spam-free, you can follow the book on its' travels as you will get an email each time it changes hands, but if you prefer to remain anonymous, that's fine too. Please also say what you intend to do with the book next. Thanks for coming onto the site to let me know you have found the book.

I already have books travelling in many countries around the world-a list can be found on my bookcrossing profile.

When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

Thank you for my surprise book. I look forward to reading it but it may be a while yet.

This is not what I was expecting and I didn't understand a lot of the legal aspects but it didn't matter. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and loved Mark, Todd and Zola. It is funny and exciting with a good ending.
