Flowers for Algernon
1 journaler for this copy...
Flowers for Algernon was referenced in Nicola Yoon’s “Everything, Everything” as one of Madeline’s favorite books, so it’s been on my radar since reading that book and watching the movie. I have to say, this book gutted me. Charlie Gordon’s IQ soars from 68 to 180 after undergoing an experimental operation. Poor Charlie realizes that being extremely intelligent isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Charlie’s humanity shines throughout this book.
