Not the most compelling of Sacks' books, but still an interesting read. The portion where he discusses his injury and comes to realize the extent of his injury is more enjoyable than the remainder which is more philosophical and existential. It was a fascinating look at how the body and the mind work together and the ways in which Sacks' professional interests were shaped. His other books which address body image issues are fascinating, but also focus on short scenarios involving clients and his assessment as an outsider, rather than his perspective as the patient and his own realization of how his professional training and education intertwine with his personal situation.

I selected this sentence as part of the online zoom First Sentence party. I'm preparing for a cruise and have decided this is a thin book that fits nicely into luggage. I plan on releasing either on the ship or before flying back.

I flipped through this book, but didn't really read it.
Left inside the library book case on the Allure of the Seas. The library had their books cleared out, but there was a handful of passenger books left in one case.
