When Nick is fired from his job, then consequently dumped by his avaricious girlfriend, the only position he can find is that of Santa Claus in a shopping mall grotto. All the kids sound like greedy little brats but when he meets 4 year old Alfie, whose widowed mum works in the food hall, all he wants for Christmas is for his widowed mum to be happy again. He consequently sets his mum up on a date with his best friend (who has also recently been dumped) but as he gradually gets to know her falls in love with her himself. A predictable plot, but then they usually are. Still enjoyed it though. Light fluffy stuff suits me at Christmas. I'll keep the blood and gore for other seasons!
