I found this softcover in my Little Free Library in Nashua NH today; thanks to whoever dropped it off! Will add it to my to-be-read stack and then release it, either back into my LFL or elsewhere.

Later: The book started out as a kind of romantic-complications-in-academia tale, but morphed into a suspense novel in which murder and sociopathy feature. There's some asynchronous storytelling, and some flashback-reveals near the end - but while the chills were effective, I found I didn't get that involved with the characters and their trials, a good many of which could have been avoided with some serious conversations early on. [OK, that's a bit flip - attempting serious conversations with a manipulative sociopath will probably not turn out well!]
