Susan Hill is the author of the famous ghost story book “The Woman in Black” and a life-long reader. This is an interesting account of some of the authors and books which have been important to her at different stages in life. I found all the mentions of famous authors she had met a bit pretentious but I did get some good ideas for books I’d like to try.

checking in. Thanks!
I kept seeing myself in many of her chapters, which certainly could be read alone. The problem for us "bookies" is that books wander around the house and cozy up to others or are left in a forgotten place.
The author decides after going on a wild goose chase to locate a book, to read only her books in her possession, limited to just 40, in the upcoming year. But how to choose? So yes, a lot of author and titles called out, along with some prose from a few of the books. I can't say that I will pick up any of her choices that she read that year, but enjoyable seeing how she decides and re-decides how to shelve her books. I certainly have tried some of the same!
Now off to another reader.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Happy reading!
Arrived safely. Thanks so much for sending this on.
Always open to reading about what others are reading and have read. Saw some authors I've never heard of but might give a try if I come across a book. Still have never finished a Woolf fiction.
Sent on to someone who had this on their wish list.
Received today.
Thanks for thinking of me!
