Two dead men changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue...

The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Private Investigator Kinsey Millhone's name and number was in his trouser pocket. Two seemingly unrelated deaths, one a murder, the other apparently of natural causes. But as Kinsey digs deeper into the mystery, some very strange links begin to emerge. And before long at least one aspect is solved as Kinsey finds the key to the homeless man's identity.

NB This is a cancelled library book.

Thank you so much for this, you have literally made my week as I've been seriously ill lately (and even had an anaphylaxis shock to some medication I was given) so I've just been resting and not doing much so these books are a welcomed surprise especially after I have recently finished "U" (JE on its way when I feel up for writing about the book).

Really can't thank you enough! Can't wait to read these.

Read this one a little while ago, too, but remember it being a much better book in the series.

Probably one of the better Kinsey Millhone series, I enjoyed reading this mystery and discovering how the PI and the homeless person died. I found it super interesting that Kinsey Millhone got brought into the whole thing because her name and number were on a slip of paper on the victim,
