I found this softcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It's a fun cookbook themed on hot-and-spicy, with a number of tempting variations. Among the "I want to try that" recipes: green chile frittata, the "Tequila Mockingbird" cocktail (apple cider, tequila, creme de cassis, lime), a "fiery chilled soup" of canteloupe, cucumber, honey, lime, and jalapeno, and even some of the desserts!

Many of the recipes could be made not-fiery-at-all, such as the artichoke-parmesan bake - the recipe includes a touch of cayenne, which could be omitted or ramped up according to taste. And the stir-fried peppers could be just sweet peppers - or you could (as per the recipe) throw in some hot peppers for extra zing.
