I got this ex-library hardcover from Better World Books. As per the title it's a collection of "story poems", from lengthy ballads to short but pithy poems-with-a-plot. It includes some favorites like de la Mare's "The Listeners," Carroll's "Jabberwocky", Tennyson's "Lady of Shalott", Noyes' "The Highwayman", and "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" (which got its own movie, the 1957 Pied Piper of Hamelin, a musical that made use of some direct quotes from the poem). And there are some that were new to me, such as Judith Nicholls' "Mary Celeste", in honor of the famed ghost ship. There are evocative illustrations throughout, and all in all it's an entertaining collection.
