Manly Appetites: Minegishi Loves Otsu Vol. 1
2 journalers for this copy...
I got this softcover at Barnes and Noble. It's a new-to-me manga about a salaryman who apparently falls for the co-worker whom he loves to feed...
This one reminds me a bit of His Favorite, in that the somewhat shy, not-conventionally-handsome character finds himself baffled at the overwhelming interest paid to him by the tall, handsome co-worker. But these are adults, co-workers, rather than high school kids, so some of the goofiness feels more strained.
Minegishi (the tall, handsome one) apparently finds Otsu (the short, chubby one) adorable, and delights in giving him tasty foods - and is upset at any hint that Otsu might want to lose weight, which is problematic. Is Minegishi a "feeder"? Would he still care for Otsu if Otsu started working out? Hard to tell at this point, and as the series seems to be more of a gag-manga than a serious story, I suspect it won't come to that. I did smile when one of their co-workers expressed her concerns about sexual harrassment, so Minegishi's shenanigans aren't going unnoticed - and at one point Minegishi steps in to stop drunken co-workers from teasing Otsu, so he's not entirely clueless.
Anyway, while the artwork's a bit sketchy for my taste, there are some rather sweet odd-couple vibes - and Otsu likes cats, so there's that. I don't know whether I'll dip into future volumes, though.
[There's a TV Tropes page on the series, with some entertaining tidbits.]

I'm including this in a box of books going to BCer HI77, in a trade. Enjoy!
