I got this softcover from Better World Books. It's a riff on the "How to Survive..." series of (mostly) practical advice - but this one's about coping with the many and varied monster attacks from the comedy-horror films such as Sharknado. It includes sections on monsters with a longer history than that - manticores, Bigfoot, saber-tooth tigers (among the few real-world threats, though of course they're long extinct) - as well as loads of increasingly-silly movie threats: "Arachnoquake", "Beeclipse", "Swamp Volcano", "Piranhaconda", to name a few. And the book's ostensibly written in part by the two lead characters from the "Sharknado" series, with Fin providing an introduction. Definitely take this one with tongue firmly in cheek!

"Sharks Are Flying at Your Head at 300 mph.
How Will You Survive?"

Later: I'd rate this as mildly amusing, more for the relentless permutations of monstrous threats and the snarky tidbits in the "High Risk Groups" section of the info for each species than for the actual advice - which gets a bit same-y as the book goes on. (In the "Boaricane" chapter the high-risk groups include "People Who Are Easily Boared. People Who Just Groaned At That Pun.") Still, I confess to having watched a fair percentage of the films here, and of obtaining at least some amusement value from most of them - even if it's in the MST3K-style sniping I do about plotholes and such! Probably more fun for fans of this particular cheesy-disaster-movie sub-genre than for those who've never heard of these films - though it might be amusing to hear from someone like that, just to find out their reactions!

I will admit that the "Antdemic" section hit a bit close to home: it discusses the flu-like illness caused by the titular ants, and includes advice that we all are (or should be!) practicing today: get a flu shot, avoid contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms, wash hands frequently with soap and water, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth... "Don't let anyone else touch those areas either. What kind of weirdo would want to touch someone else's eyeball, anyway?"

[There's a TV Tropes page on the "Sharknado" film and sequels, with some entertaining tidbits - including a mention of this book!]
