I got this slim softcover from an online seller. It's a novella featuring attempts to destroy a cursed book - always a lot harder than it seems! I enjoyed the way the plot unfolds, though I regretted the early departure of Hazel; even though it seems that it was one of her expeditions that retrieved the problematic carved chest, and the actions of a friend of hers that released the evil, she was a feisty old bird and I'd have liked to see more of her adventures. But once her nephew, a writer struggling to gain acceptance for works that aren't part of the genre-fiction series that made him famous, inherits her house, he unleashes that evil - and then realizes what he's done and dashes off to try and keep it from spreading. Neat little story with some nice touches!
