This is a good creepy gothic mystery of a novel.

And off it goes as a bit of birthday rabckery. Happy reading!

This book has been on an adventure or two, as it somehow got returned to Scotland, arriving back about 5 months after it left. It then got sent again, just in time for me to suddenly be moving house, so we were both hoping it would arrive in time! Which it has, almost exactly 6 months after (and obviously before) my birthday!
I'm looking forward to reading it, when I unwrapped it, I think my first thought was "this cover looks cool"! Thanks Bookfrogster!

I tried to read this book several times but it was a bit dark for my mood so it stayed near the top of the book pile. Thankfully now that summer has hit and I've had several days off work I was able to smash through it!
I think that had I been reading this in winter or dark the horror would have been truly terrifying. As it was I had enough trouble trying to discern if Maud's father was going insane or if the things he was seeing were real. Either way, I'm impressed with how good a job the author did at creeping me out!
Thanks again Bookfrogster!
