I enjoyed this book, as the author did a great job of telling the story but also wove in recipes and wonderful descriptions of the food, and it did make me feel hungry. Elena Alvarez has a passion for cooking inspired by her Mexican upbringing. She was the lone survivor of a devasting car accident that killed members of her family and her boyfriend when she was a teenager, but she still suffers terrible pain from her injuries. Elena is working in Vancouver and a glowing newspaper review leads to her being fired. She is approached by the owner of the restaurant to come and work for him in the new restaurant he is opening in Aspen. Julian Liswood is a single father who has been married 5 times and is a film director and owns a number of restaurants. Elena is busy creating a new menu and hiring staff for the new restaurant and trying to resist the attraction of her boss. She eventually lays the ghosts of the past to rest as she creates mouth watering recipes and makes new friendships.
