Sometimes I really enjoy Ann Patchett, sometimes I find her novels too slow and full of her characters internal lives. For me, this book was the latter. It is true that just about every character's humanity was well-developed (no one-dimensional characters) and it was all well-written, but it was also rather predictable.

This book gets some rave reviews, so I am sure many others will enjoy it.
