This story would be right at home on the Hallmark Channel. It's a New England Winter Wonderland with a cast of charming characters. Just waiting for a Christmas box.

I received this book in the mail from heartthumper as a birthday surprise. Thank you so much for this book and the other items in my birthday package. This book was actually made into a Hallmark movie. I am sure I will enjoy this book.

When I read about the author on the inside back cover, it states that the author wrote this book after writing the Hallmark movie. A story that can keep your attention while watching it in an-hour-and-a-half on TV is not so interesting to read about in 436 pages. I appreciate the transformation that the main character, Haley, had at Christmas Camp where she stopped being obsessive about her career and opened up her life to love and enjoyment. Much of the book went into great detail about what many Americans do every Christmas, but Haley never bothered to do this preferring to take a Caribbean vacation every Christmas: making Christmas cookies, making Christmas ornaments, decorating a tree, etc. Added to this was a lot of detail about winter activities, something my winters were full of growing up in the Northeast. This book was not a page-turner. It was filled with wonderful, friendly people. The character development was lacking, fine for a movie but not so interesting for book characters. I actually started this book when I received it as a birthday gift in late November hoping to finish it by Christmas so I could release it for Christmas. I have been slowly reading it for the past six months, placing it on the back burner often while reading other books. I finished it in time for the Christmas in July release challenge.

This book was left in the Little Free Library. It was released for the Christmas in July release challenge and the 2021 Movie Books release challenge.
