From the book: This novel of awesome beauty and power is a moving saga about people, relationships, and the boundaries of love. Through Jean M. Auel's magnificent storytelling we are taken back to the dawn of modern humans, and with a girl named Ayla we are swept up in the harsh and beautiful Ice Age world they shared with the ones who called themselves the Clan of the Cave Bear.
I began re-reading the Clan of the Cave Bears on October 4th, 2020, after my sister, Charlieshack, reminded me about my bookcrossing site. I just finished the book tonight and it was wonderful to reunite with the Clan! All the wonderful characters were even more vibrant than I had remembered. I have been collecting wild edible and medicinal herbs the last ten years, but this book brought out some specifics that I had forgotten about. I began researching the herbs and plants and found this book to be truly inspiring, especially from an herbalist standpoint. It also reaffirmed my connections with the spirit world and my personal relationship with God, The Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ as I know them, from a Native American viewpoint. Loved this book and I'm beginning to re-read Jean Auels Valley of Horses. I am so excited to restart this series of The Children of the Earth with Jean M. Auel! Now on to The Valley of Horses!
