The book has arrived in Finland, thanks Poodlesister! I try to read this in February.

The first part of the book takes places in two different time levels: December explains why we meet Peter Grant in new circumstances in January. But once the story catches itself, it continues chronologically. It's an okay story but somehow doesn't quite rise to the same level as previous volumes. Too modern, perhaps? At least it's lacking London as one of the main characters. Too bad.

Yet again I am ever so grateful to bookcrossing and Lamilla's spiral (and Poodlesister to added this copy to the spiral). It allowed me to read this series in order, picking up The Hanging Tree which had been loitering on (hanging on) my TBR shelves unread for a few years, as I realized it was part of a series, and not the first.
It would seem this book is the last in the series, but to be honest I do feel it is somewhat open-ended, and I sincerely hope Aaronovitch is already at work on a sequel or two or three.
I really enjoyed this one with its foray into the tech world, Beverley the goddess in every sense of the word, and I had hopes for Keira and Oliver... decidedly space for sequels. I so enjoy Aaronvitch's characters, writing, and his wit. Always an excellent read.
I will probably have to wait a bit to post this off, but as the previous two in the series are still making their way to LysMibo, I think it's ok? I hope everyone is well and healthy.

From Switzerland to France by car, this now heads to Portugal where LysMibo is until June. So sad to think this may be the last in the series and spiral. Thanks so much for organizing this, sending the books along and to everyone for participating.

Yey! The book arrived safely at my door in Portugal this time. Thank you so much for sharing it!

I really liked this one. The change of environment was quite a refreshing idea and gave more glimpses of what is happening outside London as well. It does not feel like the last book for the series but the opposite. It felt like the start point to expand the story to other countries and magic practices.

Thanks for sharing all the books of the series! I will post the book to the next reader as soon as I can.

It arrived at my place this week.

I finished this last week. I've read it in bits and pieces which I think made it less enjoyable for me. I also fell right into the story, the story was not what I expected. That's okay, but me reading it in bits and pieces didn't make it any easier to really get into it.
Bailong has asked me to send these books after the 7th of February, Chinese New Year.

Finally! The book is here! Shanghai has been hit with a 2 month very strict lock down due to Covid, and nothing was moving around (including mail). But I'm glad to see the books here now that the lock down is lifted!
