The followers of Jesus left everything to follow Jesus. The Christian life should be a life that is focused on glorifying God and bringing the Gospel to the world. Yet, many Christians today do not feel as though the Great Commission applies to them. This book is not a book about missions, but it is a book that reminds Christians that they should live a life committed to Jesus Christ and not devoted to becoming rich and successful in the eyes of the world.
The first time I started reading this book I was turned off by some statements or attitudes that the author portrayed that seemed, frankly, unbiblical and unchristian. Then, I got busy with the process of selling my house and moving across the country. I started reading the book again and moving seemed to have given me clarity of mind because I was better able to understand what the author was saying. I gained a new perspective from this book and a renewed desire to be totally focused on Jesus Christ and his teachings.
