I found this slim softcover in this Little Free Library in Nashua NH while dropping off some books of my own. It's an overview of the history of Halloween and its association with pumpkins, and includes some charming illustrations, recipes (pumpkin pie of course, and cookies, and roasted pumpkin seeds, and even chili. There's a list of pumpkin- and/or Halloween-themed movies, handy hints for carving a jack-o-lantern, and several stories and poems by authors from Nathaniel Hawthorne to John Greenleaf Whittier. Quite a lot for such a small book!
