I've only read a few of the Darkover books, but this is one of them; I remember enjoying it at the time. This copy may be from Croyd's stash.

Marion Zimmer Bradley's legacy as an influential woman in science fiction and fantasy has been tainted by allegations of child sexual abuse revealed after the author's death.

I realize it's not Darkover's fault that its creator was so flawed, but Bradley is on my list of artists whose works I won't spend money on any more; I'm significantly less likely to read her stuff as well. :s
