Does everything this man touches turn to gold? McBain is fast becoming one of my favorite authors, and this book deftly illustrates why. Great characterizations, a fluid fast-paced mystery, and even the subplot is interesting and entertaining. And a great title, too! (That was what hooked me in) I'm partial to McBain's 87th Precinct books, and this is the first Matthew Hope novel I've read, though I now intend to look for more.
