An odd book to be sure! This is the first Steampunk book I've come across.
It comprises 24 mysterious tales, all set in the late 1800s and in various cities and countries. Or to be more precise, these are 12 tales split into two halves and separated in time by just 12 hours. The (usually European) folks who fill these stories are artists, detectives, spies, diplomats and other colorful characters.
