This novel changes completely halfway through. I thought it was going to be about the sexual awakening and the coming-to-be of the main character and suddenly, it changes. I am not sure if I should spoil the surprise. I will just say that quite by being at the wrong place at the wrong moment, he gets in an awful deal of trouble.
I would recommend it, as much as I would also recommend the film. I liked both in their own way. Patrick "Pussy" Braden is a funny kind of anti-hero, and in spite of his lax approach to sugar daddies and promiscuity, I liked him, and I wished him well.
