A young woman wakes in a cold, dark cellar, with no idea how she got there or who kidnapped her. So begins her terrible nightmare.
The body of another young woman is discovered buried on a remote beach. But the dead girl was never reported missing - her estranged family having received regular texts from her over the years.
For DI Helen Grace it's chilling evidence that she's chasing a twisted monster who is clever and resourceful - a predator who's killed before.
As Helen struggles to understand the killer's motivation, she relaises she's in a desperate race against time...

Found out about a community book exchange a few miles from my sister’s house in north Wales, which may be my new spot for BookCrossing when I visit!
My review:
I do like this detective series set in the south of England, and this is the 3rd book in the series I’ve read to date. The short sharp chapters keep you engaged and the story move at a fast pace.
That said, there’s always at least one glaringly obvious way in which they could “catch their bad guy” that is always overlooked, and that is beginning to grate a little.
