I can't remember where I picked this up, a hardback so getting near to the end of the current series!
(19/08/20) *Includes spoilers*The never-changing Reacher is changing, I think, subtly but surely aging and slowing down? Other than his trademark slo mo ninja attack on some out-of-condition bikers he actively avoids too much violence, except the tumble dryer at the end, but that's 'off camera'. His personal body count is a big fat zero, although there is some collateral damage. Also, he turns down the prettier client/twin for the damaged soldier/twin, not that Jack is any James Bond, but I think a younger man would have taken on both?! And, example (3), he works with a partner, and a civilian (ex-FBI) to boot! Other than all the above, it's very much business-as-usual in the vast remoteness of Wyoming, with drug cartels, horrifically injured vets, redemption, lots of driving about, motels, less coffee, but more meals in diners. Have toothbrush will travel!
