Elderly lady lives in splendid isolation in Ireland. She spends her time remembering her marriage, her abortion and the affair she nearly had. Then a freedom fighter, whom she considers to be a terrorist, and maybe that is what he is, we can never be sure - enters her house. Slowly a very special bond develops between the two people, while the police roams about the neighbourhood.
