I found this one in the Little Free Library today while dropping off some books of my own, and decided to give it a try. I've enjoyed a lot of Russ' work, but hadn't come across this one before!Later: This loosely-linked collection of stories centers around Alyx, a skilled thief, assassin, and eventually time-traveler and possibly manipulator of realities - yeah, it gets a bit weird {wry grin}. Some of the stories are more straightforward adventures while others wander into surreal speculative scenarios. The language is marvelous, but I admit that the shifts in Alyx's settings and incarnations were a bit confusing. Still, the impression of an untamed spirit roistering her way through time and space was memorable!
