Maybe it should go into the comedy category... (a book I found in the Blécherette bookbox).
George, retired, is a worrier - he finds a scaly patch of skin on his hip and is convinced he has cancer. This little spot of bother develops into depression when he catches his wife Jean and one of his former colleagues gallivanting naked on their marital bed, his daughter Kate announces her marriage with Ray who Jean and George think is not good enough for her (but who is wonderful with her small son Jacob), their gay son Jamie breaks up with his lover then Kate calls the wedding off... There's quite a lot of blood and vomiting, poo, pee and squeamishness when George decides to take his fate into his own hands with a pair of scissors.
Just an ordinary family, really.
