The Grand Man

"Juliet walked across the bridge to Drottninggatan. Striding along the long pedestrian street, she felt empowered. She did not have Pippi Longstocking's physical strength and suitcase full of gold coins. She did not have Lisbeth Salander's computer skills and photographic memory. Nor did she have Erika Eriksson's ESP and loyal apricot poodle. Juliet was a middle-aged woman with a passion for jazz and a moderate gift with words. If that comprised her superpower, then so be it."
Juliet Brown has come to Stockholm, Sweden to interview jazz players and singers when suddenly a person she knows and has talked to, is murdered. In the middle of the police investigation Juliet gets help from a Swedish journalist Magnus Lindblom who is struggling to finish his book about Olof Palme while his famous ex-wife writes popular Scandinavian crime book series. The assassination of the prime minister Olof Palme in 1986 is still the biggest unsolved crime in Sweden, but somehow Juliet and Magnus find themselves in the middle of the mystery. And somewhere close is the lost manuscript of Stieg Larsson's fourth book and a man from Norway who is determined to find it.
