Mint hardcover. With all the books I have (and want) to read, I just don't think that I'll ever get around to reading this one. So I'll be sending it off on a trade soon.
This book is on its way to Minnesota. Hope you enjoy it.
Received in trade from kiptrix. I have long waited to read a book by Margaret Atwood and can't wait to dig in to this one. Thanks for sharing.
Hmmmm. I have to say I was disappointed in this one. I had heard such good things about Margaret Atwood and was hoping to enjoy the book. The writing was well done, but I just couldn't get into the story. The whole Oryx thing talking to Snowman from the land of the dead was just distracting and didn't add much. The concept of the story was good, and I am in agreement that it could happen, but I think I would have like the story better if it had been told in chronological order and if the Snowman's dementia had been toned down a bit.
I hope Atwood's other books are more to my liking, since I have signed up for three bookrings of her books, one of which is currently on my shelf waiting to be read.
I will be passing this on to another bookcrosser as a trade or an RABCK.

I received this book today! Thanks for sharing it with me. My take on Atwood is mixed---sometimes I like her writing (Cat's Eye; The Handmaid's Tale) and sometimes I don't (The Blind Assassin).
When I was in my teens and my twenties, I devoured science fiction like chocolate cake. It's been a long time since I sat down to a science fiction feast this delicious. Close enough to real life to prickle my conscience, yet far enough way to leave me sighing to myself quietly, Just a story, just a story. One of those books that makes you question everything, worries you, lingers long after you've closed the book.

Off to a BCer in Minnesota!
Received in a book trade. Have been anxious to read since it was recommended in a bibliography.
Actually quite well written, but a depressing look at a future earth gone mad with uncontrolled genetic engineering. Not your light bedtime fare!
