WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Enjoy!
I found this book in the Little Free Library while dropping off some books of my own, and nabbed it for a future release challenge. (It inspired a 1991 film that I saw before I first read the book.)
Given that I was iffy about the film, I was surprised at how enjoyable (if sometimes bleak) the book was. Its many lyrical descriptions of country life and the sometimes amusing comparisons with city life were enthralling, as was the growing concern about the fates of the various members of the much-tried Wingo family. [There's a TV Tropes page on the film, with references to the novel.]
