I got this slim softcover from Better World Books. It's a collection of short stories featuring the rampantly-growing kudzu vine - often as the danger in the dark plots... [There are photos of actual kudzu-covered buildings as well, just in case some readers aren't familiar with its tendencies!]
Among my favorite stories here:
"Devil's Vine Potion" by Gary H. Miller, in which an old woman uses her herbal knowledge - and a touch of witchcraft - to defend her land against a greedy property developer. [The "devil's vine" of the title is, of course, kudzu.]
Kris H. Light's "Legend of the Kudzu Curse," which postulates a (fictional, but tempting) tale about a sailing ship stranded on a remote Pacific island, where the crew mistreated the natives who helped them and tried to steal their valuable plants.
"The Green Sea" by Tom Powers is a quiet little horror story in which the threat approaches a woman who's dozing in her backyard hammock.
"Botanico" by Michael A. Ward, the longest story in the book, about a slow, eerie transformation. (This one has one of the better endings: "Tell him not to talk to trees. They lie.")
