This is not an ordinary book: it's a BookCrossing book! BookCrossing books are world travelers - they like to have adventures and make new friends...and with your help, they can even write home to say what they've been doing! (You may remain anonymous if you wish.)

Subtitle: An Anthropology of the Future; foreword by Brian Aldiss.
Oversized hardcover with dust jacket. Dixon's books are sort of science fiction bestiaries, with a serious emphasis on the science. They're fascinating, but it's time for them to move on. I hope they can find an appreciative audience!

Update August 26: this book and its companions are currently bouncing back and forth across the country...
Received in today's mail. Thanks, hyphen8!
Well, this is a strange one. It was interesting but I'm certainly not convinced things will go this way. Basically, Dixon reimagined the evolution of man. He assumes the current man will evolve out of existence but not before releasing genetically engineered "replacements" for himself. A nice thought experiment but a bit icky...
Reserving for another BCer unless I cannot afford postage overseas....
